The Learning Mind Master Class is an interactive, insightful and fun programme for all students. In this master class, your child will be taught various learning techniques that will later be applied to and reinforced during subject-specific lessons. Some of these learning techniques include:
More importantly, the master class will also focus on instilling values and attitudes in your child such as the 10 Attributes of a MindChampion, the 3-Mind Learning Model and the Hour-Glass Model of Active Learning. At the end of the master class, your child will be encouraged to self-reflect on what he/she has learnt and how he/she can improve.
The learning doesn’t stop there! Over the course of the rest of the year, your child will be given multiple opportunities to put into action what he/she has absorbed during the master class.
Every term, your child will have the exciting privilege of going through a Champion Mind Master Class with our Resident MindChampion Mentor, Dr William Tan. During this 2-hour session, Dr Tan will be sharing valuable lessons and advice drawn from his extraordinarily vivid life.
Despite being paralysed from the waist down since the age of two, and without the advantages of wealth or position, Dr Tan has defied the odds and become the living definition of a MindChampion. He is a highly successful neuroscientist and physician, a multiple gold medal-winning Paralympian and the first person ever to complete a marathon at the North Pole in a wheelchair.
As a stage-4 cancer survivor, Dr Tan understands first-hand what it takes to overcome crippling adversity and achieve at the elite level – in the medical profession, in sport and in life. With all the experiences that he has gone through in life, he believes strongly in sharing his passion, skills and insights with young people.
This will be a priceless opportunity for your child to gain an insight into the inner workings of success, with Dr Tan as his/her personal guide.
Each of the three subjects (English, Mathematics and Chinese) is taught separately to allow for maximum flexibility and depth when it comes to filling in your child’s content gaps.
You will find a more detailed level-by-level breakdown of what is covered for each subject below:
