Learning to read and comprehend well is one of the most important things that your child needs to learn, both for school and life beyond the classroom.

Our literacy assessment, which is specially designed by our in-house team of early childhood literacy experts, will provide a comprehensive and accurate measure of your child’s reading ability.

Knowing your child’s current competencies in this basic language skill will provide an indication on the areas that both you and your child’s trainer can continue to support your child in.

Prior to enrolling in our reading programme, your child’s literacy skills will be assessed thoroughly in the following areas:

Vocabulary knowledge

Letter/alphabetic symbol identification

Hearing and recording sounds in words

Accuracy in reading text

Concepts about books, print, letters and words

Understanding of frequently occurring words

After the assessment, we will walk you through your child’s results and share tips on how you can help him/her to improve. Thereafter, your child will then be placed in our core reading programme at a level best suited to his/her reading abilities, based on the results of the literacy assessment.
