Based on our Champion Mindset Theatre programme, this module is developed in collaboration with Dean Carey, our Dean of Theatre. Every acting- and drama-focused lesson is grounded in three pillars –  Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration – with the goal of developing your child’s communication skills.

Through basic acting training, your child will get to develop his/her imagination, communication skills and self-confidence – all while experiencing the power of the spoken word.

This module covers foundational acting techniques, storytelling and improvisation, as well as experiences of empathy, understanding and positive reinforcement. Your child will learn to express himself/herself through a variety of activities, including the Creativity Chest, which consists of original stories from our in-house library collection.

There are many benefits to an early exposure to dance. A unique form of exercise, dance provides physical training that develops stamina, flexibility and physical strength. It is also a shared experience that requires teamwork and discipline, and which creates a physical “language” for your child to express himself/herself using his/her body within a given space.

At MindChamps Performing Arts PreSchool, we focus on bringing these benefits to your child through our dedicated dance lessons, which include both group and individual work.

As most types of dance are performed to 8-beat music, dancing will help to reinforce your child’s grasp of basic numeracy concepts such as patterning, sequencing and counting, all of which are covered in our curriculum. The repetitive nature of dance classes also allows your child to acquire skills like coordination and memory at his/her own pace.

It’s important to note that we are not setting out to shape your child into a star performer. Instead, we work on developing your child’s creativity, confidence and perseverance through early exposure to dance, empowering your child to make a difference in the dynamic world of tomorrow.

An enhanced version of MindChamps Music, Music and Singing is offered as a core module at all MindChamps PreSchool centres. It is developed in collaboration with Dr Lawrence Scripp, our Dean of Music in Education.

In Music and Singing, your child will get to explore a variety of instruments and musical languages using voice, percussion, recorder, violin and keyboard. This will provide a basis for a life-long relationship with and interest in music.

The MindChamps Music manipulatives is a key feature in this module that will help your child to think flexibly. Through the use of various props and specialised teaching methods, your child will gain music literacy skills. This will also help your child to relate his/her knowledge of music with concepts in subjects such as languages and mathematics.

This module also includes a specialised singing component, which focuses on vocal production, breath control and sound placement. By going through the “technical” aspects of singing, we nurture your child’s abilities to communicate, perform complex tasks simultaneously (e.g. controlling pitch, breath, lyrics and tone at the same time) and develop advanced memory retention.
